ONOMATOPOEIA!
PROJECT
As a long-time comic enthusiast, I was excited to be a contributing artist to one of the most exciting new intellectual properties soon to be hitting comic book stores everywhere. My role was to create over 100 unique typographic onomatopoeia (think POW! BANG! ZAP!) illustrations throughout the 4 issue graphic novel
I worked closely with James Farr and the creative team at Steelehouse Productions throughout the project and enjoyed the collaborative nature of bringing the story to life.
APPROACH
Having the opportunity to work on the first 4 issues, I was interested in creating every piece of onomatopoeia by hand, vs.altering an existing comic book font. This decision only made the book more unique and respected the composition and illustration line work created by the incredibly talented Jon Sommariva (Red J).
